JettProof in the Spotlight: Featured on NBN News

We're proud to share that JettProof was recently featured on NBN News, shining a spotlight on our Australian-made sensory compression garments and our role in a groundbreaking clinical study led by La Trobe University.

The April 29 segment focused on our Compression Singlets (also known as Vests), which thousands trust daily to support sensory regulation, calm, and emotional wellbeing.

"Michelle Ebbin's 'JettProof' vest is helping its wearers regulate their emotions. And soon – the locally made product will be the focus of a major study."

From Personal Mission to Global Impact

JettProof began with a mother's mission. Our founder, Michelle Ebbin, created the first calming singlet for her young son Jett, who was experiencing up to 14 meltdowns a day due to overwhelming sensory challenges.

With over 30 years of experience in textiles, Michelle and the team continue to lead the way in sensory support through innovative design and the specially developed Calmtex® fabric. JettProof® garments provide all-day support for anxiety and sensory dysregulation. JettProof is now worn across Australia and around the world by Autistic individuals, as well as those with ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder, and Anxiety.

Our garments are proudly made in Australia using innovative Calmtex® fabric and are trusted by more than 150,000 families worldwide.

The Study: A Landmark Moment in Sensory Support

The NBN News feature highlighted our partnership with La Trobe University on a world-first two-year clinical trial led by Professor Alison Lane of the Olga Tennison Autism Research Centre.

The study will involve 140 Autistic children aged 8 to 12 across Melbourne and Perth. They will wear a JettProof vest daily for three months. Researchers will measure changes in mood, sleep, emotional regulation, and overall wellbeing.

This project follows a promising 2023 pilot study and aims to provide scientific validation for what so many families already experience: the power of sensory compression to create calm and connection.

This study will be carried out in partnership with The Kids Research Institute, led by Dr Gail Alvares and includes international researchers in the US and UK.  It's also the first study to assess a sensory compression garment's health and economic benefits.

Behind the Scenes: A Day to Remember

NBN News visited our Lake Macquarie facility, where every JettProof garment is made. One of the most special moments was watching Jett, now 15, speak confidently on camera. His calm presence reminded us all of how far he has come and why we do what we do.

Your Words, Our Why

The community response to the NBN feature has been truly heartwarming. We've received hundreds of messages from families, therapists, and local businesses. Here are just a few:

"I am a high school teacher working in student wellbeing and support. The kids who wear Jettproof undershirts love them!" Sally F.

"Love these singlets! They're worth the $$$. My Autistic son has been using them for the last 3 years... Very grateful these singlets were created 🙌"Stephanie C.

"Thank you. Over the years your singlets and socks have been great for our son. Amazing service!!"Renee S.

"Do you make them for large adults? Would love my non-verbal son to try!"Leanne R.

✔️ Yes, we do. JettProof offers a full range range for children and adults, and we are an NDIS registered provider.

Looking Ahead: Creating Calm, Confidence & Connection

Being featured on NBN News and partnering with La Trobe University is a milestone we're incredibly proud of—but it's just one chapter.

At our core, JettProof is about people. About families. About making everyday life a little calmer, a little easier, and a lot more supported.

Thank you for being part of our journey. Together, we're not just creating garments—we're changing lives. 💙
